In beginning recreation, your child will focus on learning the basics of gymnastics on vault, bars, beam, floor and trampoline. Students will rotate through a variety of stations which help your child learn safe progressions of skills before trying them on their own.
Students will begin by warming up and stretching, they will also spend 15 minutes learning trampoline skills and 15 minutes on two other events (bars, beam, vault or floor). This class focuses on teaching cartwheels, handstands, forward and backward rolls, jumps and kicks on the beam, pullovers and swings on the bars, and jumping to a squat positions on the big foam vault mat.
Intermediate and advanced recreation classes are for girls who have mastered the skills in the beginning or intermediate level. These classes teach more difficult gymnastic skills in a non competitive setting.
This non-competitive invitation-only class is for those gymnasts who have shown proficiency in intermediate level skills, and who show a desire and ability to progress in gymnastics. Students will experience a more intense workout than a recreation class, while focusing on flexibility, technique and strength. This is a great class for girls who want to learn harder skills without joining a competive program.
